XABIER ALDAZ

Originally from the Basque Country, I currently reside in Irún, Spain.

I completed the Advanced Professional Photography Program at the Basque Institute of Photography – IVASFOT (2014/2016).

Additionally, I undertook the “Contemporary Photography Portfolio” course at Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London (2017).

I also completed the International Master in Photography and Project Management at the International Center of Photography and Cinema, EFTI (2018/2019), presenting the project “RE – VEILED” (2019).

Finally, I pursued the Expert Course in Digital Postproduction for Fashion, Beauty, and Advertising at the International Center of Photography and Cinema, EFTI (2020).

With the project “RE-VEILED,” I held my first collective exhibition at EFTI-Colectiva Master “Someone is traveling furiously towards you,” curated by María Santoyo, Carmen Dalmau, and Nerea Ubieto (2019).

It can be viewed at the following links:

I had my first solo exhibition, “Everything was a disordered illusion,” at the exhibition hall of La Farándula, Donostia – San Sebastián (2022).

Journalist Begoña del Teso published a press article related to my aforementioned exhibition, as well as about my career and interests in the world of photography and art.

I exhibited solo for the second time with the exhibition titled “Everything was a disordered illusion” (currently updated with a new arrangement and new works) at the PhotoGune Espacio art gallery in the Gros neighborhood, Donostia – San Sebastián (2023).

Journalist Joti Diaz wrote a full-page press article about the exhibition for El Diario Vasco.

I also conducted my first performance titled “Crossing My Own Mirror – (Reflections of Intimate Introspection)” at the aforementioned gallery. It was documented in a video trailer, as well as the complete performance.

Currently, I continue with ongoing exploration and research into new projects, focusing on themes that address the construction of identity and the emotional reconstruction it entails.
